Funded and free opportunities with the Doenet OER community
Doenet.org is a free and open source tool to author rich interactive classroom activities using your web browser. Inspired by PreTeXt, Doenet has a special focus on semantically authored content to support accessibility for all learners.
There are lots of opportunities for you to learn about Doenet and how it can support your teaching, or even get involved as a contributor to our broader open-source ecosystem of educational resources and technologies:
- Virtual Workshops: Free registration for regularly offered Zoom workshops is available at Doenet.ScholarLattice.org
- In-person Summer Workshop: Applications are now open to join us in person June 1-5 at the University of Minnesota, with a limited number of seats for virtual participants as well. Accepted participants will have their travel and accommodation paid for!
- MAA MathFest: A minicourse on “Upgrading Online Assignments: Building Scaffolded Activities for Conceptual Understanding” will be available at this year’s MathFest. Details are available at Mathematical Association of America. (This opportunity requires registration for MAA Mathfest and an additional fee.)
Doenet is part of a broader ecosystem of free and open-source educational technologies for the mathematical sciences. To connect with our community, come say hi over at our MathTech.org/chat Discord!
These activities are supported in part by funding from the National Science Foundation.
